What are Push Notifications and what types will I receive?

Last Updated: Feb 21, 2018 02:41PM CST

Study Admin Mobile supports push notifications. Push notifications are messages that appear at the top of a phone or tablet’s screen to remind subjects to upload daily or notify them that Study Admin has performed an important action.

What Types of Notifications are supported?

Automated push notifications (daily upload reminders)

These are sent every 24 hours after an activity monitor has been assigned to a subject. Once the patient has made an upload, the push notifications will be sent every 24 hours after the time of upload.

Soon to be available notification types:

  • Study Admin has ingested the uploaded activity data. This notifies the patient that the upload is completely available to the study administrators.

  • Activity monitor has been removed from the subject. This notifies the patient that he or she will no longer be able to connect to an activity monitor to upload data.

  • Credentials have been expired from expired credentials. This notifies the patient that he or she will no longer be able to access the subject from the mobile phone.

Push notifications can be disabled by going to the following for the different platforms:

  • Android

    • Navigate to Settings, Find your application manager, find Study Admin Sync, and disable notifications

  • iOS

    • Navigate to Settings, Tap Notifications, find Study Admin Sync, disable “Allow Notifications”
