ActiLife requires access to the internet to check for program updates, access to the Data Vault, and to verify subscription status (for ActiLife 6.x users). Actilife uses Port 80 (normal web traffic) and Port 443 (secure web traffic) by default. Depending on how your computer's Windows Firewall is configured it may prevent ActiLife from connecting to the internet to perform vital functions.
To add an exception on your computer for ActiLife please use the following guide.

To get started, Navigate to the Windows Firewall Control Panel item, by opening the start menu and type Windows Firewall. Select Windows Firewall from the results and the following window should open.
Next click on 'Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall'.
The window should display all of the applications Windows has detected a Firewall entry for on your computer. A check mark indicates that the application can communicate on the network listed in the column.
If ActiLife is not listed in this window, please click the 'Allow another app...' button. If this button is greyed out you will need to click 'Change Settings' at the top of the window. Administrator Credentials may need to be entered.
Select ActiLife from the list. If it is not on this list. Click Browse and navigate to the 'C:\Program Files (x86)\ActiGraph\ActiLife6' Folder and select ActiLife.exe.
Next, click 'Network types...'
Check the boxes for all 3 network types.
Once this is done, click OK and then Add, and the firewall entry is done. You may need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
